Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MakeStack processes personal data when you browse the site, build or share infrastructure stacks, and choose whether to allow optional analytics.
1. Data controller
MakeStack is currently operated as a private, non-commercial hobby project. Its private operator is the controller of personal data processed through the site. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
2. Data we may process
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, operating system, approximate location, request date and time, visited URL;
- Consent data: your analytics preference, saved locally in your browser.
- Analytics data: page views and site interaction data collected by Google Analytics only with your consent.
- Stack data: selected services, images, ports, environment values, credentials, and generated configuration when you preview, export, run, or share a stack.
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting the MakeStack operator.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process data to provide MakeStack's features, operate and secure the site, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and respond to requests. Necessary processing is based on providing the service you request and our legitimate interests. Optional analytics is based on your consent.
4. Cookies and local storage
MakeStack uses necessary browser storage to remember your cookie choice and support site operation. Google Analytics is enabled only after you consent. You can accept or reject analytics and change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the site footer.
5. Stack configuration and public sharing
Stack previews and generated files may contain values or credentials you enter. If you share a stack, its configuration is sent to the MakeStack backend and may be stored for access through a share URL.
6. Service providers and recipients
Data may be handled by providers that support hosting, databases, security, maintenance, observability, and analytics. Google receives analytics data only after you consent. We do not sell personal data.
7. International transfers
If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we use safeguards required by applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
8. Retention
We keep data only as long as needed to operate and secure MakeStack, provide shared stacks, respond to messages, or protect legal claims. Your consent choice remains in your browser until you change it or clear the site's data.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Send requests to the privacy address above.
You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
10. Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the service, including HTTPS, access controls, software updates, and operational monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the law, MakeStack's features, or its providers change. The current version and its updated date will remain on this page.
